Have I told you lately that I LOVE YOU?

When is the last time you said those 3 words? (And are you now signing the song? I was - the whole way through typing this post!)

Think about someone you really love and care for. Be it a partner, a child, a parent, a grandparent, a grandchild.....anyone who means something special to you.

Now hold in your heart that love that you have for them, how that love makes you feel.

Now imagine this person comes to you and tells you that they've had a bad day.

What do you SAY to them? What do you DO for them?

Think about the love and support you would give this person, to cheer them up, to reassure them, to make their day feel a bit better.

Now what if this person was yourself??

If you were having a bad day... What would you SAY to yourself? What would you DO for yourself?

Are your answers different to the first time round? If so WHY???

You are just as important as anyone else! In fact, to you, you are number 1!

I know there will be those of you reading this who may strongly disagree, but I've said it before, I'll say it again and I'll continue saying it until the end of time...

You CANNOT pour from an empty cup!!

We will have people around us that depend on us and which we prioritise, but we should also prioritise ourselves. If we are so badly needed then shouldn't we be making sure we are in tip top shape?

Why would you deny yourself the same courtesy you extend to others?

What makes you feel that you're not as important as they are?

And fact of the matter is, (tough love coming right up), if you don't respect and love yourself then why should anyone else?!

Not only that, but if you have children, or others who look up to you, what kind of an example are you setting? Impressionable people follow first hand examples.

If you rely heavily on your car for getting places, then I'm going to bet that you keep it in good nick so it doesn't break down (and if you're not doing that, then you really should!)

Your body is no different! You need to keep it in good nick so it doesn't conk out!

So pull up your big girl/boy pants and for goodness sake SHOW YOURSELF SOME LOVE!!!

Make a list of 5 things that you really enjoy or helps you relax. (It doesn't have to be fancy, reading a book or having a bubble bath still counts)

Over the course of this week I want you to make a conscious effort to do each of those things on that list!

As well as that I want you to write a note of love and appreciation each day to someone special, without out addressing them by name, just notes that you'd write to them to perk them up! And once you've done that, keep them safe.

Then on Friday, open them up and read them to yourself.

Psst....Clue:- They’re actually little love notes for you!

See how you get on with that this week, I challenge you, and by next Monday tell me you don't feel better for it! Even just a little bit! I bet you can't! (Well maybe, but then you haven't done it properly!)

It's just little things like this that can make all the difference.

We can't move mountains overnight, but we can shuffle pebbles at a comfortable pace, which after a while will make a big difference!
